PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to leave for official visit of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan

ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will pay an official visitto Turkmenistan and Afghanistan from tomorrow on the invitation ofPresident of Turkmenistan and President of Afghanistan.

He will participate in the ground-breaking ceremonies of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan, Pakistan, India gas pipeline project, lines of electricitytransmission and fibre optics.He will be accompanied by Minister of Statefor Energy Jam Kamal Khan.

The ground-breaking ceremonies will be jointly attended by Prime MinisterShahid Khaqan Abbasi, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly MalikgulyevichBerdimuhamedov, President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and Minister of Statefor External Affairs of India M.J Akbar.The first leg of the ceremony willbe held in Serhetabat, Turkmenistan.

The Prime Minister will hold a bilateral meeting with the Turkmen Presidentand also attend an Arts and Culture exhibition showcasing culturalperformances and artistic pieces from the four member countries, includingPakistan, followed by the link-up ceremony where he will make a statement,alongwith leaders of other member states,.

The Prime Minister will then proceed to Herat, Afghanistan on the same dayto attend the Afghan leg of the groundbreaking ceremony.

The Prime Minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with the AfghanPresident after the groundbreaking.
