LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Mian Saqib Nisar orderedto immediately remove all barriers outside the house of Pakistan MuslimLeague-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz.
Hearing a suo motu notice on Sunday, the CJP came down hard on Punjab ChiefSecretary Zahid Saeed when he said only the security gate near Hamza’sresidence was removed and not the barriers.
“Hamza is a Member of National Assembly (MNA) and the Punjab chiefminister’s son,” said the chief secretary when the chief justice inquiredas to who Hamza was.The chief justice remarked further that the court could summon Hamza andask him about the threats to his life.
CJP Nisar added that Hamza could shift his residence if there were genuinethreats to him.The chief secretary assured the court of removing the blockades.
Chief Justice Nisar informed the official that he would visit the place ina private vehicle to check if his orders had been implemented.
