Renowned Pakistani singer Momina Mustehsan came under fire from Pakistanis for her controversial tweet mentioning pain and agony of her Jewish friends. She faced severe criticism from social media users for expressing her views on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Mustehsan, on the social networking site X (formerly Twitter), said, "I mourn the loss of my Jewish friends' lives.
I stand equally with the Muslim and Christian people of Palestine whose countless lives are being taken daily." She questioned, "How many more lives will be lost? Imparting social consequences to oppressors and the oppressed is against humanity."
Following this statement, social media users expressed anger and drew a strong comparison to American model Bella Hadid, who has consistently supported Palestine without fear.
They argued that Momina Mustehsan couldn't speak up for Palestinian rights because her Jewish friends might disapprove.
