The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a production order for the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The production order has been issued to bring the individual to the Commission to face charges in the contempt case.
The Chairman of PTI has been directed to appear before the Election Commission on 24th October at 10 AM. The Election Commission has also instructed full security from the Inspector General of Punjab and Islamabad for the appearance. The Election Commission has directed the presence of the Inspector General of Islamabad to ensure the Chairman's attendance.
Before this, the Election Commission had accepted the request to remove Imran Khan from the party position and issued notices to both parties.
It is reported that on October 24, the Election Commission will hold a formal hearing on the request to remove the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from his position. A five-member commission under the Chief Election Commissioner will conduct this hearing.
The Election Commission has also issued a notice to the petitioner, Khalid Mahmood, who had requested the removal of the Chairman of PTI from his position following the Toshakhana case verdict.
On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court has revoked the bail list for Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan's cases, and the scheduled hearings were canceled. Initially, the former Prime Minister's requests were set for hearing today, but later, the bail list was canceled. As a result, there was no hearing on the bail requests for Imran Khan today.
The permission for a meeting with the Chairman of PTI in jail was also canceled. The Regular Cause List of the Division Bench, which includes Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq and Justice Babar Sattar, was also canceled. In this regard, the judicial officers said that only urgent cases would be heard in the Division Bench today.
