ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has strongly condemned acquittal of four terrorists in 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings case.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal stated that India’s decision to acquit terrorists behind Samjhauta Express bombings is ‘extremely deplorable and condemnable’.

Dr Faisal inquired that what answer Indian government would give to victims’ families.

A Panchkula special court on Wednesday acquitted four people including Swami Aseemanand for the deadly firebombing of the Samjhauta Express in 2007, Hindustan Times reported.

At least 68 people were killed in the attack on bi-weekly Samjhauta Express back then in February 2007.

Investigators had concluded that terrorists had used improved explosive devices and inflammable substances for the blasts and the fire in two coaches of the train near Panipat in Haryana.
