LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen’s son AliKhan Tareen has vowed to keep the name of the sixth PSL Team as “MultanSultans”.

He on Thursday won the bid for the sixth franchise of the Pakistan SuperLeague (PSL) as Multan Sultans.

The bidding for the sixth team was held in Lahore today. “The MultanConsortium led by Ali Tareen has won the franchise rights for the sixthteam, by exceeding the reserve price,” PSL tweeted.

The reserve price set by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was $5.21 million perannum for a period of seven years. The reserve price was exceeded by Ali.

“The team is a gift for South Punjab,” Ali said. “The name of the team willbe decided after consultation. If allowed, I have no problem in keeping theteam’s name Multan Sultans,” he added.
