Indian Air Force gets military satellite, alarm for Pakistan

NEW DELHI – Indian Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa said Wednesday the launchof satellite GSAT-7A would enhance the networking and communicationcapabilities of the Air Force.

“We have several platforms (aircrafts) which have capabilities ofcommunication through satellite. The communication to the platform(aircrafts) through the satellite will be made possible with this launch,”he told reporters here.

ISRO will launch the military satellite GSAT-7A at 4.10 pm from Sriharikotain Andhra Pradesh.Dhanoa was at the Jodhpur air base to interact with thecontingents of the Indian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces, whoare participating in the joint exercise, ‘Aviaindra-18’, from December10-21.

ISRO’s geosynchronous launch vehicle Wednesday successfully injected intoorbit the country’s latest advanced satellite that will substantiallyenhance the communication systems of the Indian Air Force.
