Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz has warned that a earthquake and tsunamican occur in the surrounding areas of the Makran’s southern region, 50kilometers away from the undersea tectonic plates junction at any time.
In a statement issued by Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, it has beenmentioned that there are possible earthquake risks in the Arabian Sea, butdefinitive earthquake predictions are not possible in advance.
Sardar Sarfraz stated that in the southern region of Makran, there is ajunction of undersea tectonic plates 50 kilometers away, and earthquakesand tsunamis can occur in the surrounding areas at any time.
The Chief Meteorologist mentioned that in the past, an earthquake with amagnitude of 8 has occurred in this region, and if such an earthquakeoccurs again, Karachi could be affected by a tsunami.
