Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, madea significant announcement on Friday during the Riyadh Summit. He calledfor the creation of a Palestinian state, emphasizing that it should beestablished within the borders of 1967, as reported by the Saudi PressAgency.
Addressing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the summit, the Saudi crown princeexpressed deep concern over the escalating violence in Gaza. Heparticularly highlighted the severe toll this violence was taking oninnocent civilians.
Mohammed bin Salman reiterated Saudi Arabia’s strong stance against thetargeting of civilians. He stressed the importance of adhering tointernational humanitarian law and called for an immediate halt to militaryoperations that were causing harm to civilians and essentialinfrastructure, thereby directly impacting their lives.
Furthermore, he called for the creation of conditions that would lead tostability and a lasting peace. This peace, he noted, would not only bringabout a just solution but also enable the establishment of a Palestinianstate within the borders of 1967.
