Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed fans gather outside his residence demanding to make him captain once again

KARACHI – Dozens of fans on Sunday gathered outside Safraz Ahmed’sresidence in Karachi and demanded to make Sarfraz Ahmed skipper of thenational team again.

The decision to sack Sarfraz Ahmed has attracted mix reactions. Some peoplehave widely hailed the decision while others have lambasted it citingSarfraz record as captain in T20I.

Alleging that Sarfraz has been subjected to discrimination, the protestersdemanded to restore him as captain of the national team at earliest.

Following Pakistan team’s dismal performance against Sri Lanka, SarfrazAhmed was sacked as Pakistan captain.

Sarfaraz was also dropped from both the Test and T20I sides.

A press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated thatAzhar Ali will lead the side in Test matches, while Babar Azam has beenappointed the new T20I captain.

Azhar Ali has been made the Test captain for the World Test Championship inthe 2019-20 season, while Babar Azam will lead the side in the shortestformat shortest until next year’s ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020.
