LAHORE – Punjab government has taken important decision over the Metrobuses subsidy.
Following the increase in prices of petroleum products the Punjabgovernment is considering to abolish subsidy on metro bus by implementing18-20 rupees fare per stop.
The provincial government is giving a subsidy of 12 billion rupees on metrobus, which – according to authorities concerned – is a huge burden on theexchequer.
The decision to increase fares has already been agreed upon and thetransport department and mass transit authority have to come up with perfare amount.
