Due to the absence of witnesses, the local court has halted proceedings inthe Arshad Sharif murder case and transferred the case file to the recordroom.
In the previous hearing on Wednesday, Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah notedthat the court had received the investigation report under Section 512 ofthe Pakistan Penal Code on March 16 for this case. Despite summoning thewitnesses on April 5 to provide their statements, none of them appeared, even though the prosecution had been given 15 opportunities to submit theirstatements.
Considering this situation, the court has decided to pause furtherproceedings and stated that the prosecution can file a new application whenwitnesses become available.
