CPEC: PTI government issues tender for the longest motorway of Pakistan with total length of 892 kilometres

LAHORE: China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Chairman Authority AsimSaleem Bajwa on Sunday announced that the tender for the construction of animportant section of the M-8 has been issued.

In a tweet, Bajwa said that the M-8 would “improve the connectivity ofGwadar Port, revolutionise socio-economic development of the region andbring prosperity through addressing the long term deprivation”.

According to Bajwa, the highway, situated in the remote districts of Kech,Awaran, “is a beacon of light for the impoverished people of SouthBalochistan and will change their lives”.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to launching and completing allprojects in Gwadar, “in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision”.

The Ratodero Gwadar Motorway (M-8) will start from Ratodero in Sindh andenter Balochistan passing near the towns ofKhuzdar, Awaran, Hoshab, Turbat before joining the Makran CoastalHighway just east of the port city of Gwadar.

The M8 will have 4-lanes and a total length of 892 km.
