ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly reacted over the Afghan foreign Ministrystatement on Torkham Border. Pakistan on Friday termed statement issued byAfghan Foreign Ministry regarding Torkham border crossing as irresponsibleand unwarranted.
Foreign Office spokesman stated that Pakistan- Afghan border is aninternationally recognised, official border between the two countries inaccordance with all relevant international laws and conventions.
Pakistan believes that 24/7 opening of the Torkham point alongPakistan-Afghanistan border is a significant step forward to facilitate thepeople and traders of both sides. However, such statements only serve toundermine the resolve for peace and cooperation between the two countriesand should be avoided.
