Saudi Arabia Dispatches Emergency Relief Convoy for Flood-Hit Families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) on Wednesday sent a large-scale emergency relief convoy to support families affected by recent flash floods and cloudbursts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

A send-off ceremony was held with the participation of Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Said Al-Maliki, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sana Ullah Khan, KSrelief Pakistan Director Abdullah Al-Baqami, as well as officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), representatives from the KP government, and members of the media.

The convoy carries 10,000 shelter kits and 10,000 food packages. Each shelter kit includes a portable shelter unit, solar panels with LED lights, thermal blankets, plastic mats, kitchen sets, water coolers, and antibacterial soap. The food packages, weighing 95 kilograms each, contain wheat flour, sugar, lentils, and cooking oil to meet the urgent nutritional needs of displaced families.

Distribution will be managed in coordination with NDMA, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RR&SD), and KSrelief’s local partners, the Hayat Foundation and Peach and Development Organization. Authorities assured that aid will be delivered in a transparent and timely manner to the most vulnerable communities.

The initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s continued humanitarian commitment to Pakistan. KSrelief has previously executed numerous projects across the country in food security, health, education, shelter, and disaster relief — further cementing the deep ties of brotherhood between the two nations.

This latest relief effort represents another milestone in Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian partnership with Pakistan, providing vital support to families hit hardest by the floods in KP.
