Meta Introduces AI-Powered Voice Translation for Facebook and Instagram Videos

Meta has unveiled a groundbreaking feature for Facebook and Instagram usersthat enables *automatic voice translation in videos using ArtificialIntelligence (AI).*

The feature was first showcased at the annual *Meta Connect 2024 conference*,where the company announced that creators’ voices could be translated intodifferent languages and seamlessly integrated into Reels.

Initially, the tool supports *English-to-Spanish* and *Spanish-to-English*translations, with Meta confirming plans to expand it to more languages inthe future.

One of the most notable additions is a *lip-sync option*, whichsynchronizes the translated voice with the speaker’s lip movements in thevideo. This ensures a more natural and immersive viewing experience foraudiences.

According to Meta, availability will vary across platforms:

On *Facebook*, the feature is accessible to creators with over *1,000 followers*. –

On *Instagram*, all public accounts with access to *Meta AI* can use it.

Creators will be able to toggle the translation feature *on or off* beforepublishing a video, along with the lip-sync option. Viewers watching Reelswill see a small notice reading *“Translated by Meta AI”* on the video, andthey can disable the feature in their settings if preferred.

In addition, Meta is introducing a new section in *Insights* that willallow creators to track the languages spoken by their audiences, helpingthem better understand global reach.

This innovative tool is expected to not only *break language barriers* butalso help creators expand their content to a wider, international audience.
