Noose tightening against former CM Shahbaz Sharif

*LAHORE – Former chief minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has been summonedby NAB yet again on Monday for his alleged involvement in three graftcases.*

The anti-graft watchdog has been investigating president of Pakistan MuslimLeague Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Shairf in connection with three corruptioncases, including Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme, Punjab Power DevelopmentCompany (PPDC) and Saaf Pani Project.

Mr Sharif was directed to appear before the NAB officials at 11:00 am inthe Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing scheme scam and later at 2:00 pm again in thePPDC case.

So far, Shehbaz Sharif has appeared thrice before the anti-corruption bodyand recorded his statements.

His son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf is also facing NAB inquiries in the PPDCcase.

NAB had also questioned Hamza Shahbaz in the PSPC case for his alleged rolein the award of certain contracts and making appointments in violation ofrules as he was not a member of the company’s board of directors.
