NEW DELHI – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a new offer to thePM Imran Khan.
He wrote a letter to his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan saying that NewDelhi is willing to hold a constructive and meaningful engagement withIslamabad.
Modi felicitated Khan over assuming the office of premier and stressed needto work for a terror-free South Asia.
He noted that India was committed to peaceful neighbourly ties withPakistan.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi termed the letter as apositive development in his maiden press conference.
“Both the countries are atomic powers. There is no capacity for adventure.Kashmir issue holds significance and India should understand this.Continuous negotiations are needed. We know the issues are tough and willnot be solved overnight, but we have to engage.”
“Indian Prime Minister wrote to PM Imran Khan yesterday and congratulatedhim. He has also indicated the beginning of talks between the twocountries,” he added.
