ISLAMABAD – Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary hasstressed the need to upgrade Radio Pakistan and proposed introducingEnglish Channel of Radio on internet particularly for internationalaudience.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today, he said Radio Pakistan has asignificant and vital role in national development and promotion of culture.
The Minister asked the Information Ministry to play a proactive role inpromoting and projecting positive image of Pakistan at International level.
He also underscored the need to transform traditional mechanism ofdisseminating information and news on PTV and expressed his resolve to makethe corporation independent and depoliticized like BBC.
Fawad Chaudhry directed the concerned organizations and attacheddepartments particularly the PTV and PBC to make earnest efforts togenerate revenue by improving their programming and content.
