AJK government executing energy projects to generate 2,591 MW electricity

ISLAMABAD: AJK government is executing various projects to generate 2591 megawatt electricity in next three years.

Official sources told Radio Pakistan that work on six mega hydropowerprojects is underway, which will be completed by 2020.

These include Gulpur Power Project, Riyali-II, Kerot Hydropower Project, Kohala Hydropower Project, and Azad Patan Power Project.

The sources said twenty-two small hydro power projects are also beingimplemented in addition to these six main projects.

They said the government has completed 147-MW Patrend Hydropower Project in a record time of one year. The project started generating power from July this year.
