ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed Pakistan MuslimLeague-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi’s plea challenging Lahore HighCourt’s (LHC) decision of holding ephedrine case hearings on daily basis.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed heard the case.
The petitioner’s lawyer adopted stance that fair trial is not possible inday-to-day hearing therefore; chance should be provided to run the case intrial court.
The petitioner has asked the court to annul the decision of LHC and grant10 days so that the trial can be conducted in fair manner.
“It is alright if date for hearing is given after two months? Theproceedings of murder cases are also held daily. No one can dictate thecourt,” remarked the judge.
LHC had directed to conduct daily basis hearing of the case and announcethe verdict till July 21.
