Pakistan’s Foreign Office thanked friendly countries

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani foreign ministry spokesperson has thankedfriendly countries, including Iran, for condemning recent terrorist attackson election rallies which claimed lives of more than 150 people.

‘We are thankful to brotherly and friendly countries for condemning theseattacks and offering condolences to the Pakistani nation,’ Muhammad Faisalsaid in his opening remarks at weekly news briefing in Islamabad onThursday.

“The Pakistan nation stands resolute in the face of such criminal acts andit committed to ensure the holding of free fair elections for smoothpolitical transition,” Faisal said.

He went on to say that terrorist attacks in Balochistan andKhyber-Pakhtunkhwa Provinces last week have left the entire nation in deepmourning.

Earlier Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi in a message hadexpressed solidarity with the families of terror attack victims. Condemningthe attacks, Qasemi sympathized with the Pakistani people and government.

The suicide attack in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan’s Mastung areawhich claimed lives of more than 150 people, including a political partyleader, was the deadliest attacks in the history of Pakistan.
