General Michael E. Corrella, the Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM)said that Pakistan’s nuclear program is in safe hands.
According to the international media, General Michael E. Corrella,commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), said in responseto a question in the Armed Services Committee of the United States Senatethat he had confidence in the security procedures of Pakistan’s nuclearprogram.
The Commander General was asked in Parliament whether Pakistan’s nuclearprogram is in safe hands in the background of ongoing political instabilityand economic crisis in the country, he expressed confidence in the securityof Pakistan’s nuclear program.
A close ally of Pakistan Army Chief Gen Asim Munir, Michael E. Corellaexpressed confidence in the safe command and control of Pakistan’s nuclearprogram without discussing the fear of political instability and economiccrisis.
The commander of the United States military said, “I have a relationshipwith the military leadership of Pakistan and I have a good relationshipwith the Pakistan Army Commander General Asim Munir.”
General Corella said that Pakistan’s concern is its budget, the currentfinancial and political situation, and countering terrorism.
