Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani has filed a contempt ofcourt petition against KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali in the Supreme Court onMonday.
It way prayed in the petition that despite apex court’s orders the governorhas failed to give a date for holding general elections in the province.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also been made respondent in thecase.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to file a contemptpetition against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor in the Supreme Court for notobeying the court orders regarding holding elections in the province.
The PTI lawyers have prepared a detailed application to be submitted in theapex court.
Former speaker of National AssemblylinkQaiser, former provincial education minister Taimoor Jhagra, and ShaukatYousafzai will go to the court to submit the plea along with the PTI legalteam.
In its next move against the KP governor, the PTI will prepare a case totake legal action against the governor under Article 6 of the Constitution.
