RAWALPINDI – Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of BahrainGeneral Sheikh Mohamed Bin lsa Al-Khalifa on Friday called on the Chief ofArmy Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters inRawalpindi.
According to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations(ISPR), the matters pertaining to mutual interest, regional securityespecially the Afghan peace process, and measures to further enhanceprofessional cooperation between both the armies came under discussionduring the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the army chief said that Pakistan values itsstrong diplomatic, economic, and defence relations with the Kingdom ofBahrain.
Both reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral cooperationincluding efforts for peace and security in the region.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regionalpeace & stability.
Gen Bajwa, Sri Lankan army chief discuss security issues
Later, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and the Commander Sri Lankan ArmyGeneral Shavendra Silva also met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) GeneralQamar Javed Bajwa at general headquarters (GHQ).
During the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security issueswith particular reference to enhanced military cooperation were discussed.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s continuous efforts for peaceand stability in the region, especially in the Afghan peace process, andpledged to further enhance bilateral relations between both Countries.
Earlier on arrival at the GHQ, the visiting dignitary General ShavendraSilva laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented the guard ofhonour to the visiting dignitary.
