DUBAI – Pakistan’s head coach Mickey Arthur on Sunday revealed that seniorplayers were rested for Australia series to save them from fatigue andinjuries before the World Cup 2019.
He termed objections being raised on resting senior players ‘wrong andbaseless’.
Arthur revealed that Pakistan have a busy schedule ahead of them before themega-event. “Pakistan will take on Australia in UAE and then would playanother five matches with England. After that, Pakistan will take onAfghanistan and Ireland in the warm-up matches”, Arthur was quoted assaying.
He further stated that the decision to rest six senior players was takenafter mutual consultation.
Arthur expressed concerns on lack of good batsmen in the side.
