SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties HurriyatConference, Syed Ali Gilani has said that India has left the people ofJammu and Kashmir with no option but to fight back with more will and vigorfor liberation of their motherland from its illegal occupation.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani while addressing themembers of Majlis-e-Shoora of his party, Jammu and KashmirTehreek-e-Hurriyat, in Srinagar said that entire pro-freedom campespecially Tehreek-e-Hurriyat was facing hard times at the hands of Indianoccupational forces.
“Gagging the political environment, jailing the entire man force of theorganization and judicial onslaught against our workers has left us with nooption but to fight back with more will and vigor,” he added.
The APHC Chairman said that by the grace of Allah Almighty he stood hisstand despite testing times of jails, interrogations, domestic hardships,physical and psychological onslaught, but continued house arrest andrestrictions on the interactions with his party colleagues for the pasteight years had dented the function of the organization.
“So, I willfully step down from the chairmanship and advise the Shoora toarrange an alternative at the earliest.” He extended his fullestcooperation and sincere wishes to the would-be leadership of theorganization.
Later, in a unanimous decision taken in the extraordinary meeting of TeHMajlis-e-Shoora, the highest decision making body, Muhammad Ashraf Sehraiwas appointed as interim Chairman of the organization, said a TeH spokesmanin a statement after the meeting.
