Pakistani player confirmed Coronavirus positive ahead of PSL 6

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that a player has testedpositive for coronavirus on Friday night.

An opening ceremony of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 will be aired onSaturday (today). The opening match will also be played today.

The player had earlier showed symptoms and had gone in isolation. Theidentity has not been disclosed. He will remain in quarantine for at least10 days, according to sources.

Moreover, another cricketer and an official from one of the teams have goneinto isolation too for three days.

PCB mentioned in the statement, “The two individuals will now require twonegative tests during the three-day quarantine period before they canre-enter the bio-secure bubble in accordance with the re-entry protocols,”

“The PCB is disappointed that two members of one of the sides showedcarelessness and violated the bio-secure bubble protocols by coming into acontact with a person who was not part of the bubble.”

“He will now remain in quarantine for 10 days and will require two negativetests in order to integrate again with the side in accordance with theapplicable re-entry protocols,”

“All players, player support personnel, match officials, and family membersare once again reminded to diligently follow the PCB COVID-19 Protocols asthe PCB will not allow anyone to affect the integrity and credibility ofthe tournament,” it added.
