ECP strongly reacts over the missing presiding officers of NA 75

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated on Saturday that resultsof NA-75 by-elections were unnecessarily delayed.

It mentioned in a statement that returning officer fears changing inresults of 20 polling stations. It added that the Chief ElectionCommissioner tried to contact IGP Punjab, Commissioner, and

Deputy Commissioner to know details about missing presiding officers butthey did not respond.

On the contrary, Chief Secretary at 3 is assured that lost officials andpolling bags will be traced. Presiding officers resurface along with polingbags at 6 am.

ECP also mentioned that it is not possible to release unofficial resultswithout full inquiry into the matter. But, the district returning officerand returning officer are sending a report to the commission and provincialelection commissioner. According to ECP, joint provincial electioncommissioners have been asked to reach the office of the returning officers.
