*WASHINGTON DC: *United States President Donald Trump has expressed hopefor Pakistan and India to get along.
Responding to a question regarding Indo-Pak tensions, the US president saidhis government is watching the situation. “I have seen it, I have watchedit. I have gotten a lot of report on it. We will have a comment at theappropriate time.”
“It would be wonderful if they got along. It seems like that was a horriblesituation but we are getting reports.
And we will have a statement to put out,” he told reporters at a pressconference at the White House.
The United States urged Islamabad to punish those behind the February 14suicide attack in occupied Kashmir.
“We have been in close communication with the government of India toexpress not only our condolences but our strong support for India as itconfronts this terrorism,” said US State Department Deputy SpokespersonRobert Palladino.
“We urge Pakistan to fully cooperate with the investigation into the attackand to punish anyone responsible,” he added, noting that Washington hadalso been in contact with Islamabad over the attack. – APP/AFP
