Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir makes historic record at the Bangladesh Premier League

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir makes historic record at theBangladesh Premier League with 20 wickets as the highest wicket taker ofthe tournament.

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019-20 is over as Rajshahi Royalstrump Khulna Tigers in the grand final to clinch the title.

There were a number of memorable performances from the local stars,however, overseas cricketers especially Pakistanis stole the show. MohammadAmir’s 20 wickets at 17.75 helped him finish as the leading wicket-taker ofthe tournament.

The honor was shared by three other bowlers including Bangladeshi pace duo,Mustafizur Rahman and Rubel Hussain and South African all-rounder, RobbieFrylinck as they took 20 wickets apiece.

This edition of BPL saw 4 five-fors, however, the best ever figures in thetournament history came from Amir, who claimed 6 for 17 in the Qualifier topower his team, Khulna Tigers, into the final.——————————

Other Pakistani bowlers, including Mohammad Irfan (Rajshahi Royals), ShadabKhan (Dhaka Platoon), Wahab Riaz (Dhaka Platoon) and Mohammad Nawaz(Rajshahi Royals) played crucial roles in their teams’ success.

4 batsmen crossed the 450-runs mark and veteran Pakistani all-rounder,Shoaib Malik, was one of them.

Malik scored 455 runs in 15 innings with a best of 87 while also taking 5wickets with the ball.

Shadab’s career-best 64* from just 41 balls along with 11 wickets at 21.81,Wahab Riaz’s career-best 5 for 8, Mohammad Irfan’s 14 scalps with a meagereconomy of 5.63, Mohammad Nawaz’s match-winning all-round performance inthe final (41* from 20 and 1/29 in 4 overs) – although a player with abigger stature, Andre Russel (27* from 16 and 2/32 in 4 overs), got the manof the match despite contributing less – were all some of the bestperformances of the tournament.
