ISLAMABAD – An FIR was lodged on Sunday afternoon against 16the Counter-Terrorism Department officials allegedly involved in theSahiwal shooting. They were arrested on Saturday night on the directives ofPrime Minister Imran Khan.
The cops were allegedly involved in the killing of four people, including awoman and a teenage girl, in a police shooting in Sahiwal earlier today.The case was lodged against the Yousafwala police station.
After the PM contacted him, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had directedPunjab Inspector-General Amjad Javed Saleemi to arrest the CTD policeofficials and register a case against them.
Earlier in the day, a joint investigation team was constituted by thePunjab IG to investigate the killings.
The investigation team will be headed by DIG Zulfiqar Hameed and members ofthe Inter-Services Intelligence, Military Intelligence and IntelligenceBureau will be part of it.
The team will submit its report in three days. The police are investigatingthe fatal shooting of four people at around 12pm on Saturday near the Okaratoll plaza in Sahiwal by the CTD.
