ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Army is preparing to buy huge amounts of ammunitionfrom abroad. Pakistan has made a deal for purchase of nearly one lakhshells for its 121 Howitzer guns from Italy.
According to Indian intelligence reports, Italy has assured to providethese shells to Pakistan soon.
It is worth mentioning that soon after India struck agovernment-to-government deal with the US in November 2017 for the supplyof the 145 howitzers at a cost of nearly Rs 5,000 crore, Pakistan bought121 Howitzer from Italy.
India has only received 2 M777 guns so far from the US.
Intelligence agencies are trying to find out the motive of behind thepurchase of these one lakh shells.

“Our agencies are trying to find out why Pakistan is procuring about onelakh shells from Italy and where they are planning to use it”, said anofficer posted in the central security establishment.
Pakistani Army has already increased the presence of soldiers on theforward posts. Also, it has reportedly alerted 3 brigades in the Kotaliaarea of Kashmir adjacent to Poonch.
Pakistan has increased the numbers of troops at all ordinary or listingpost close to 10.
