DUBAI – Shaukat Khanum held its annual fundraising gala in Dubai yesterdayat the Atlantis, The Palm resort and it was a star studded event, with bignames like Maya Ali, Mahira Khan, Fakhar Alam and last but certainly notleast Chairman board, Imran Khan himself!

Fakhr e Alam hosted the evening and even took the guests through apresentation on the amazing work being done at Shaukat Khanum. Mahira andMaya, who are brand ambassadors of the SKMH Breast Cancer Awarenesscampaign took to the stage and appealed to the guests to donate generously.
Tickets for the gala evening were priced between DHS 500-1500, all proceedswent to SKMH Karachi, while people also pledged a lot to the cause. Forthose who couldn’t make the event or donate as generously, this post spokevolumes;
Perhaps the highlight of the evening was an emotional and inspirationalspeech by one cancer survivor in the audience who openly blessed Imran Khanfor creating such an organization that helps cancer victims fight thedisease and was grateful to him for helping cure and save lives everyday.

Imran Khan gave a short and sweet speech, he thanked Maya and Mahira andappreciated the fact that the younger generation had stepped in.
He further added that there was a time when Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and MadamNoor Jehan helped raised funds and was glad that the younger generation wasjust as committed.
