KARACHI - Work on twenty-one wind energy projects with a total capacity of over one thousand megawatts of electricity is in full swing at Jhampir Wind Corridor in district Thatta, reported Radio Pakistan.
Our Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado reports the projects are expected to generate electricity by the end of next year.
Director Alternative Energy department Sindh Mehfooz Qazi informed Radio Pakistan that each wind power project has the capacity of 50 megawatts.
He said nine projects have already been completed and are adding 350 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
He said in Sindh special attention is being paid to explore alternative energy sources to meet growing national energy needs.
