National Security Committee extraordinary meeting ends in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: National Security Committee (NSC) chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was held in Islamabad today.

NSC on Saturday evening reviewed the Indian army's ceasefire violation along Line of Control.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the chiefs of Armed Forces, Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) among others were in attendance. The meeting resumed after a brief adjournment, informed sources.

Matters pertaining to national and regional security as well as the border situation came under discussion in the high-level huddle. The participants of the meeting discussed the prospect of raising Indian violations of the LoC on releveant diplomatic forums.

It was the second NSC meeting called during the week.

The members of the meeting were also briefed on the measures being taken by the armed forces in preventing terror financing.

The premier was told that Pakistan is fulfilling its responsibility in light of The Financial Action Taken Force's (FATF) recommendations.
