NEW DELHI - Indian Political leader has strongly lashed out at Modi government over state funeral to Sridevi.
Criticising the media attention given to actress Sridevi's death, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray raised questions over the state funeral accorded to Sridevi.
Thackeray also alleged that the media attention to Sridevi's funeral was a ploy to divert the attention from the PNB scam.
Addressing MNS workers at a rally in Central Mumbai's Shivaji Park, Raj Thackeray said, "Nirav Modi was the talk of the town, and then the issue of Sridevi came in. This was brought to change the issue. When a person like Sridevi dies, you wrap her in Tri-color and you say you did that because she was a Padma Shri."
"It was said that Sridevi died by drowning in the bath-tub as she consumed too much of liquor. Films like 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' and 'Padman' were a covert propaganda for government schemes," he added.
Raj Thackeray also criticised PM Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the promises he made while campaigning for the 2014 election. Thackeray admitted that it was his mistake to support Modi in the 2014 general elections and cautioned Marathi people about Modi government conspiring against Marathi manoos.
