Flood water wreaks havoc

SIBI (APP): Nari River received high flash flood due to heavy monsoon rains lashed Sibi, Bolan and adjoining areas.

Flash flood badly damaged several villages in Sibi during last 24 hours and cattle and domestic items were swept away by flash flood.

Heavy monsoon rains continued lashing Sibi, Bolan and adjoining areas for last 24 hours, due to which Nari River received flash flood which wreaked havoc in the region, destroying several villages and damaging mud houses, making hundreds of local dwellers internally displaced.

"Presently, 40,000 cusec to 60,000 cusec water has been flowing in Nari River which received high flash flood after Sibi, Bolan and adjoining areas continued receiving heavy monsoon rains during last 24 hours," an official of the district management said.

The official sources said that Goth Warish Shahwani area lying in catchments area of Nari River was completely destroyed while flash flood also wreaked havoc in Dahpal Kala and adjoining areas.

He said that flash flood of Nari River has also been hitting Goth Chandio and local people were forced to flee the area. The local people appealed the government and philanthropists to rescue them in the situation caused by natural calamity.

Meanwhile, the official sources in the Met Office said that the monsoon rain would continue lashing Sibi, Bolan and other parts of Balochistan for next one week.
