E-stamping: How it can help eradicate corruption from land department?

SIALKOT (APP): Commissioner Gujranwala Division Capt (Retd) Muhammad Asif on Monday said that inauguration of the Land Revenue Information Management System (LRIMS) and E-stamping was aimed at wiping out old system and corruption from the land department.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on E-Stamping at Anwaar Club.

He said that new land record system would provide a lot of facilities to the people. He said that it was a tough task for the government to replace old system with new computerization system without errors.

He said that the LRIMS and E-stamping provided equal opportunities for the people to get knowledge of their land records. He appreciated efforts to launch E-Stamping and said that the properties of the people would be protected through modern technology.

DCO Dr Asif Tufail informed that properties of more than one million people get digitization through modern technology. He said that there are some loopholes in E-Stamping and LRIMS which would be solved in a short span of time.

Asad Islam, Member Tax Board of Punjab, addressing the gathering said it was the government efforts to launch E-Stamping and LRIMS to connect land record according to modern era.

ADC Dr Umer Sher Chtha, AC Maisam Abbas and others were also present on the occasion.
