FAISALABAD: (APP) Syed Muhammad Waeem Akhtar, president, Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (PCC), USA, said on Friday that Pak-Asia-USA Trade Expo, scheduled to be held on December 9-17, 2016 in Houston, would help in mainstreaming Pakistani exporters in the United States of America.
Speaking at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he said that through fair business practices, we could effectively build the image of Pakistan in the US, and provide the local exporters with an opportunity to strengthen their linkages with the buyers there.
Waseem Akhtar said that Pakistani products were the best in terms of quality and price and they could get a sizeable share in the American markets.
Regarding textiles, he said that Pakistan was producing the best quality clothes, bed-sheets and other related items which were in great demand in America.
He said that only proper marketing was required to increase the sale of Pakistani products in the US.
He asked FCCI president to arrange for a delegation of serious business people, who would visit the US to explore the market there.
He promised arranging delegation's meetings with leading American chain stores and big hotels that regularly purchase bed-sheets and textile-related products in bulk.
He also offered help to Pakistani exporters who intend to set up their warehouses, offices or want to establish their own companies in America.
Earlier, in his welcome address, FCCI President Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz said that population-wise Faisalabad was third biggest city of Pakistan.
It is second in revenue generation after Karachi while it is also contributing 50% to total national textile exports.
He said that last year the FCCI arranged for six trade delegations that visited Germany, Italy, Sweden, America and China, while two delegations would viist Spain and Italy in the coming days.
