KPK government four tier service structure of doctors in pipeline

PESHAWAR: (APP) Secretary Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Abid Majeed has revealed that the provincial government is working on the service structure of doctors under four-tier formula.

He said reasonable increase in the existing numbers of BPS- 21 slots of doctors on the basis of meritorious services was also under consideration.

He was talking to a delegation of Young Doctors Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that called on him at his office here Thursday and discussed matters related to the welfare of doctors community in the province and its role in further strengthening the health care service delivery system.

The delegation also put forward some issues faced by the doctors community specially the young doctors and requested the provincial government for measures to address the same.

The Secretary health assured the delegation of all possible steps by the to resolve their genuine issues and told the delegation that the health department was practically working on providing monthly stipends to the House Job Officers in public sector hospitals of the province and providing free medical treatment facilities to the Trainee Medical Officers in their respective hospitals.

He also assured the delegation that the issue of monthly stipend of the students of private medical colleges doing their house jobs in public sector hospitals will be taken up by the concerned medical colleges on priority basis and provision of stipends to those medical students as per criteria of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council would be ensured.

On the demand of the delegation regarding the prevision of necessary security to doctors and award of scholarship by provincial government for higher education of doctors, the secretary health asked the delegation to submit feasible proposals to the provincial government in this regard.
