LAHORE: (APP) People of Pakistan are united to defend ideological and geographical boundaries of the country at this crucial juncture of the history.
Conspiracies to divide Pakistanis through religion differences, sectarianism, creed, colour and race will not succeed, said speakers at the Ihtiram-e-Pakistan conference, here on Thursday.
The Interfaith Council for Peace and Harmony conference was chaired by Khateeb Badshahi Masjid Maulana Khabeer Azad. Bishop of Lahore Sabstain, Bishop Dr Alexander John Malik, Allama Kazim Raza Naqvi, Maulana
Muhammad Khan Leghari, Sardar Janam Singh, Father James Chanan, Dr Munawar Chand, Khawaja Javaid Aslam Sahaf and number of other representatives from different religions and sects attended the event.
They raised flag of Pakistan and made a chain by joining hands to show solidarity with the country.
They said that the white part of the flag of Pakistan represented minorities. They stressed the need for making more efforts to create awareness among masses about the need for unity and harmony in the country.
Maulana Azad and all others also jointly prayed for progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
