The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Monday issued 96 visas toIndian pilgrims to allow them to visit Shree Katas Raj Temples, also knownas Qila Katas.
The pilgrims will visit Shree Katas Raj, a prominent Hindu temple complexin Punjab’s Chakwal district from December 20-25.
The High Commission for Pakistan in New Delhi issued visas to Hindupilgrims under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrinesof 1974. The pilgrims from both countries are allowed to travel to someshrines across the border every year.
The issuance of pilgrimage visas to Hindu and Sikh pilgrims is in line withthe Pakistan government’s efforts to facilitate visits to religiousshrines. It is also reflective of Pakistan’s respect for religious placesof all faiths and efforts to promote interfaith harmony.
