ISLAMABAD – Former President Asif Ali Zardari is likely to be disqualifiedas member of National Assembly over non declaration of assets.
As per the media report, the federal government has decided to file adisqualification reference against Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-chairpersonAsif Ali Zardari in the Election Commission of Pakistan for concealing hisassets.
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Wednesday that the PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf has directed its Sindh lawmaker Khurram Sher Zaman to filea reference against Zardari for not mentioning his foreign assets in thenomination papers.

“Zardari owns an apartment in the United States. Under Article 62/63, hewas bound to declare his assets which he didn’t. He is not eligible toremain a member of the parliament anymore,” Chaudhry said.
