The United States will contribute seven million dollars to the AsianDevelopment Bank’s ongoing support for Ehsaas Programme to address thesecondary effects of COVID-19 in Pakistan.
A signing ceremony in this regard was held in Islamabad, which was attendedby USAID Mission Director Julie Koenen and ADB Country Director Yong Ye.
Under the agreement, the Asian Development Bank will use the USAID’s sevenmillion dollars contribution to provide cash grants to Pakistani familiesin need of financial assistance due to the pandemic.
The grants will be distributed through the Government of Pakistan’s EhsaasEmergency Cash program.
The USAID’s funds will also provide technical and administrative support toensure effectiveness, accountability, and transparency for the programbeneficiaries.
