ISLAMABAD – Peshawar Zalmi aims to strengthen Pak-Turkey Friendship. MOUsigned in Islamabad between Zalmi Foundation & Turkey Developing SportsBranches Federation. Zalmi Foundation will promote cricket in Turkey, JavedAfridi.
After promoting cricket in Austria and China, Peshawar Zalmi aims topromote cricket in Turkey and play an important role. For this, an MOU wassigned between Zalmi Foundation and Turkey Sports Developing Organizationin the Turkish Embassy, Islamabad.
Chairman, Javed Afridi signed on behalf of the Zalmi Foundation whereas thePresident of the sports developing organization, Mr. Hassan Atazurk signedon behalf of the organization. Many renowned guests came which include thespokesperson for the organization who flew in from Turkey.
Along with this, Turkish cricketers, Mehmet Sert, Tunahan Turn and TurkishWomen Cricket Team captain, Yagmur Tasdelen, Ankara Sports Club President,Hasan Sabit and Mr. Salman Ali (Coordinator of Ankara Sports Club) werealso present.
On this occasion, Chairman Javed Afridi said “Pakistan and Turkey have hadgreat relations. In order to further strengthen this relationship, cricketwill play a monumental role. To promote cricket, Zalmi foundation will goleaps and bounds to make Turkey, a cricket loving country.
To begin with, women and men s team will be supported by us. We willpromote cricket on the grass root level which includes school cricket. Wewill distribute kits among the passionate players. We will also providecoaching to schools.
Peshawar Zalmi coaches will fly to Turkey to teach these young aspiringcricketers. Apart from cricketers, we will provide coaching to the Turkishumpires as well. They will be invited to umpire in Zalmi matches so theycan learn even more. ” He further added that “Two Turkish cricketers willaccompany the Zalmi team for PSL 4 and get a chance to learn from the bigstars of the game.
This will be a great opportunity for them.” Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan,Mr. Mustafa Yardakal said “Turkey has a lot of cricket talent. After thisMOU, this talent will get the chance to showcase themselves and enter intothe mainstream cricket arena.
