In a retaliatory move, Russia suspended its mission at NATO with closure of Alliance’s office

Russia has suspended its mission at NATO and ordered the closure of thealliance’s office in Moscow in retaliation for NATO’s expulsion of Russiandiplomats.

In a statement, NATO spokesperson Oana Lungescu expressed regrets overRussia’s decision and said NATO’s policy towards Russia remains consistent.

NATO spokesperson said we have strengthened our deterrence and defense inresponse to Russia’s aggressive actions, while at the same time we remainopen to dialogue, including through the NATO-Russia Council.

On the other hand, Russian Foreign Ministry said that NATO’s actions“confirm that they are not interested in an equal dialogue and joint workto deescalate military-political tensions.
