Ferry Service planned between Gwadar and Middle East state

ISLAMABAD – Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani Thursday stressed theneed to further boost economic cooperation between Pakistan and Omanbenefiting from the proximity of the two countries.

A ferry service between Gwadar and Muscat would help exploit the dividendsof the economic activity getting momentum in the port city of Gwadar inwake of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He expressed these views while talking to the Sheikh Mohammed Omer Ahmed AlMarhoon, Ambassador of Oman who called on him here at Parliament House.

Sadiq Sanjrani said that Pakistan and Oman shared many commonalities andshould get benefit from the true potential of economic ties between the twobrother countries.

He said that ferry service between the Gwadar and Muscat would not onlyenhance the trade volume but also facilitate tourists visiting differentcountries in the region.

He said that Pakistan was a gate way for the Oman to the Central AsianStates and the Oman might facilitate Pakistan’s trade with European Unioncountries.

He said that Pakistan and Oman were enjoying very good Parliamentarylinkages and should get benefit by supporting each other in economic,education and social sectors.

He said that exchange of Parliamentary delegations would steer the agendato enhance bilateral ties and economic relationship.

He hoped that a high level parliamentary delegation of Oman wouldparticipate in Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) meeting being held inGwadar in the last week of October. – APP
