Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and member of the PakistanCricket Board (PCB) Cricket Committee, Muhammad Hafeez, has said that weshould fully support national captain Babar Azam for the World Cup, andconsider Babar’s captaincy after the World Cup. Hafeez hinted that Babar’scaptaincy depends on his and team performance in the World Cup.
Speaking to the media at the Karachi Press Club, he expressed his views onthe performance of the national team in the Asia Cup. He said that we haveto accept that we were unsuccessful in the Asia Cup. We will acknowledgethis failure and move towards improvement.
Muhammad Hafeez mentioned that these players have been playing for Pakistanfor quite some time. They were playing in various leagues before the AsiaCup, and injuries were a concern due to the league commitments. When youplay so many leagues, there is a possibility of getting injured in majortournaments.
