ISLAMABAD – Pakistani authorities have taken up with Twitter and Facebookthe suspension of Pakistani social media accounts posting in support ofKashmir.
Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Maj Gen AsifGhafoor, through his personal Twitter account on Sunday, said thatPakistani authorities had taken up with Twitter and Facebook the allegedsuspension of Pakistani social media accounts posting in support of Kashmir.
“Pakistani authorities have taken up case with Twitter & Facebook againstsuspending Pakistani accounts for posting in support of Kashmir. Indianstaff at their regional headquarters is the reason,” he tweeted. He alsoinvited social media users to share information about accounts that havebeen suspended.
DG ISPR’s statement comes as #StopSuspendingPakistanis was trending onTwitter in Pakistan. Over the last one week, multiple Pakistanis have takento Twitter to report that accounts were being suspended after they postedabout Kashmir.
He also invited social media users to share information about accounts thathave been suspended.
